After another successful campaign, Leeds United’s U18s are preparing for the play-offs for a second season in a row, led by Mark Jackson.
The Whites finished second to Sheffield on Wednesday by goal-difference in the Northern section, despite doing the double over the Owls.
Cardiff topped the Southern division, a point ahead of Ipswich.
Both play-off semi-finals will take place on Saturday, with the other fixture seeing Sheffield Wednesday host Ipswich Town.
Cardiff have announced that the game will be played at the Cardiff City Stadium and entry will be free for everybody.
A great gesture from the Welsh club will hopefully see a sizeable attendance, adding to the experience for the young players.
When the two sides met last month, Cardiff came out on top, beating the Whites 2-0 at Thorp Arch, with a brace from midfielder Kieron Evans. I’m sure United will have a special eye on him for Saturday’s fixture.
Since that game, Leeds have won four on the bounce, scoring fourteen and conceding just twice in the process, while Cardiff went on to lose three of their last five matches.
Leeds are coming into the game in the better form, but Cardiff will still be confident considering they won the previous contest between the two. It has the making for a great game.
