Leeds Trinity University’s cricket team travel to Follifoot for a friendly looking to follow up their 128 runs victory over Huddersfield University on Wednesday.
The game was their first home game at Horsforth Cricket club, after they agreed to play all of their home games there this season. The win over Huddersfield was an ideal start to the campaign, as they aim to go one better than last season where they finished as runners up.
Follifoot come into the game on the back of a 54 runs defeat Calverley St Wilfrids CC in the first game of their season last time out. They will be looking to kick start their season with a win over LTU Lions.
Ahead of the game LTU Lions’ batsmen Jake Jones, 18, said “I’m delighted to be part of the team for the first time for the game against Follifoot. I’m hoping to impress and gain a place in the team for the next league game at Sunderland. We started the season with a well earned victory over Huddersfield, and we are confident of continuing our winning form.”
The game against Follifoot will be a good chance to prepare for their remaining games this season. The Lions face games at the Universities of Sunderland, Newcastle and Hull and one more home game against the university of York. If they can maintain their good form then there is no reason why LTU Lions can’t win the league for the first time this season.
