The signing of the 25-year-old Egyptian born forward has helped boost Jürgen Klopp’s Reds side.
He put pen to paper on a club record £36.9m deal. The five-year-deal means he will stay at the club until the end of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
Liverpool lost the chase for his signature back in 2014 when he signed for Premier League rivals, Chelsea, but that was short-lived as he soon went on to play in the Serie A for Italian giants, Roma. He scored 29 goals in 65 games there and the Liverpool head coach, Jürgen Klopp, believes the winger has developed his game and improved massively since his stint at Chelsea.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss stated: “He has the perfect mix of experience and potential – this is a really exciting signing for us,
I have followed him since he emerged at Basle and he has developed and matured into a really good player.”
Salah will wear the Number 11 shirt previously worn last season by Brazilan forward, Roberto Firmino. In turn he will be wearing the number 9 shirt next season, which has previously been worn by the likes of Fernando Torres and Kop legend Robbie Fowler.
Salah said: “I’m very excited to be here. I’m very happy. I will give 100% and give everything for the club. I really want to win something for this club.
“We have a great team and very good players. I was watching the games last year and everyone was giving 100% to win something. Everyone can see the coach gives everything. I hope to see that together we can give everything to win something for the club, for the supporters and for us.”
