LEEDS TRINITY LIONS LOOK TO MAKE IT TWO WINS FROM TWO

By Billy Stephenson

Leeds Trinity cricket team will be looking to make it two wins on the bounce as they will make the trip to Sunderland.

Last week, the Lions had an impressive 128 run victory over Huddersfield in their first game, and this could help push the team to victory tomorrow (Wednesday May 3). It will be a tough call for skipper Dominic Farr to pick a team for tomorrow’s game as it was a great team performance last week, and players have been improving in training week by week.

The Lions were due to play Sunderland last year, however their opponents not able to field a team so the win went to the Lions, which helped them to secure second place in the league.

Last week in the opening games of the season, Sunderland were awarded the win against local rival Newcastle, so they are yet to play a game this season.

Speaking to Lions bowler Craig Edwards, he said: “Tomorrow’s game should be a good test for us. We started really well on Wednesday so hopefully we can build on an impressive start.”

He then went on to add: “An injury to Lee Perks is a setback however with the introduction of Elliot and Cameron should hopefully strengthen the team.”
