I believe Manchester City have one of the best teams in the Premier League era. However, they are not the best team in my honest opinion.

Man City’s best season in their history came last season in the 2017/18 campaign which saw them lift the Premier League in a very convincing fashion as the runners up Manchester United were 19 points behind their fellow Manchester rivals.

They also had success in the Carabao Cup beating Arsenal 3-0 in the final at Wembley Stadium, London. When people look at whether a top team has had a good season they look at European success during the season.

Manchester City were thrashed 5-1 on aggregate against Liverpool during the season which I think could be the reason why many people could argue that Manchester United and Arsenal had better teams.

Manchester United completed the treble during the 1998/99 season winning the Champions League, Premier League and also the FA Cup. I believe this was the best British team in the Premier League era.

This team was credited more than any other team as they had many academy players in the squad such as David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Gary Neville and also Phil Neville.

United finished 1 point ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League, they beat Bayern Munich 2-1 in an astonishing comeback in the Champions League final and also beat Newcastle United in the FA Cup final with a comfortable 2-0 score line.

The fact that United won the Premier League with so many academy players will be the deciding factor for the older fans of the Premier League in terms of the best British team as they enjoy watching home grown talent.

Arsenal had a season in which they did not lose a single league game throughout the whole season. This was during the 2003/04 season which saw them lift the Premier League title.

Arsenal fared less well in the cups, they were eliminated in the FA Cup and League Cup semi-finals to Manchester United and Middlesbrough respectively, and at the quarter-finals stage of the Champions League to Chelsea.
