Music icon Kate Bush is lending her words to the Bradford Literature Festival for a permanent monument for the Bronte sisters. The festival takes place later this summer between the 29th June and the 8th July.
Bush who rose to stardom in 1978 with her song Wuthering Heights which was inspired by Emily Bronte. Bush along with poet Carol Ann Duffy, poet and novelist Jackie Kay and novelist Jeanette Winterson are all involved in the Bronte Sisters Project in Thornton and Haworth. Four public art installations with be placed in the areas the sisters have made famous.
Bush has said she was honoured “to say thank you” to Emily Bronte for giving her the inspiration for her song.
